Storm Warning Message from Mayor

Release Date: February 12, 2014
Message from Mayor James P. Dodd regarding Storm

The Town of Dover is urging residents to be prepared for the pending snow storm event. It is predicted to hit our area late Wednesday and run through early Friday morning. Predictions are that up to a foot of snow followed by ice may be experienced in our area. The storm could bring strong winds in the 20-30 mile per hour range placing added pressure on power lines. Be prepared for possible loss of power.
The Town salt supplies, like other entities in the State, are extremely low. The DPW will focus its salt efforts on the main roads and hill areas. PLEASE AVOID TRAVELLING UNLESS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! If you have a fire hydrant near your home or business we ask that you help our Emergency Personnel by trying to clear the area around it so the hydrant is accessible if needed.
In an effort to keep our streets safe during this storm event, we encourage all residents to park your vehicles in your driveway if possible. We appreciate your assistance in helping the DPW keep our roads clear for you, our residents.
Mayor James P. Dodd
