Little League Opening Day 2010

The Dover Little League kicked off its 2010 season with its Opening Day Parade up North Sussex Street to King Field this past Saturday, April 10th. There were approximately 125 players who participated in this year’s event. Mayor James P. Dodd and the Board of Aldermen along with the Board of Recreation Commissioners lead the parade to the field along with assistance of the Police and Fire Departments. Little League Chairman Victor Rodriquez served as Master of Ceremonies for the event. Mayor Dodd presented outgoing Recreation Commission Chairwoman Denise Ridner with a plaque thanking her for her years of service to the program and the community and announced that Mr. Rodriquez will now be assuming the duties of this post with the Board. Mayor Dodd, Mr. Rodriquez, Alderman Visioli, Alderwoman Romaine, Alderwoman Blackman, and Alderman Timpani then cut the ribbon dedicating the new concession stand and meeting room built at King Field. This facility will provide storage and a meeting location for the various recreation programs in Town. Also, Recreation Commission members Maribel Soto, Joan Bocchino, and Donald Fratch participated in the parade and dedication ceremonies as well.
