Sealed Proposals for 2018 NJDOT Project – N. & S. Bergen Street Roadway Improvements, will be received by the Town of Dover in the Municipal Building, 37 N. Sussex St., Dover, New Jersey on February 6, 2019 at 10:30 A.M., prevailing time, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. No Proposals will be accepted after said hour. The contract will include approximately:
112 SY of Dense Graded Aggregate Base Course
3,700 SY of HMA Milling, 3” or less
27 Tons of Hot Mix Asphalt 19M64 Base Course, 4 inches thick
500 Tons of Hot Mix Asphalt 9.5M64 Surface Course, 2 inches thick
10 Units of Reconstruct Inlets, Various Types
225 LF of 9” X 18” Concrete Vertical Curb
275 LF of Granite Block Curb
425 SY of Concrete Sidewalks, Various Thicknesses
20 SF of Regulatory and Warning Signs
1 Units of Street name Signs W/Posts
2 Units of Fire Hydrant Assembly, Connect to Existing Gate Valve
1,800 LF of Traffic Stripes, Long Life, Epoxy Resin 4”
1,000 SF of Traffic Markings, Thermoplastic
100 SY of Topsoiling, Fertilizing & Seeding Type A-3 and Seed Accelerator
and other miscellaneous items. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M. daily except Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays beginning on January 7, 2019 at the offices of The Town Clerk, Town Hall, 37 North Sussex., Dover, NJ 07801.
The cost for the Contract Documents is $50.00 per set and is non-refundable. Checks shall be made payable to The Town of Dover. The Town of Dover will only package contract documents upon receipt of payment and postage paid return addressed mail package. The Town of Dover will not be held responsible for contract documents purchased via courier service.
Proposals shall be made on the forms provided and made part of the Contract Documents which shall be submitted intact. A certified check or cashier's check made payable to the order of the Town of Dover, or a duly executed Bid Bond, in the amount of 10 percent of each bid, but in no case in excess of $20,000.00 must be deposited by the Bidder together with a Surety Consent evidencing that he can obtain the required Performance Bond.
The successful Bidder shall be required to deliver to the Town a executed Performance Bond of a responsible indemnity company authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey.

Proposals must be placed in sealed envelopes and delivered in person to the Town of Dover, 37 N. Sussex Street, Dover, New Jersey 07801, with the Proposal description and the name and address of the Bidder marked clearly on the outside of the envelope. No Proposals will be accepted by mail.
The Town of Dover reserves the right to reject any and all Proposals or to waive any minor informalities or irregularities in the Proposal received and to accept the Proposal which is in the best interest of the Town. The Town of Dover anticipates award of this contract to be made at the next regular meeting of the Mayor and Board of Alderman following the bid opening if documents are in order.
