Dover Introduces Mobile Phone Payment for Parking
Release Date: March 23, 2015
Dover, NJ, March 23, 2015 – Dover has announced an exciting change to its parking system. Starting in early April, people looking to pay for parking in Dover’s public parking lots will have an additional payment option. Patrons will have the option to use their cell phones, tablets, and computers to pay for parking.
The new system is called Whoosh! The Whoosh! mobile phone app can be downloaded from the App Store onto an iPhone or the Google Play Store onto an Android device. Users register their license plates and credit card with the Whoosh! system through the app or through www.whooshstore.com. No worries if you do not have an iPhone or Android device. You can access Whoosh! by visiting its mobile web site - m.whooshstore.com.
To pay for parking, you simply open the app on your phone, choose your parking area, select your vehicle, enter your space number and choose the amount of time you want to park. When your parking session is about to expire the application can send a reminder via text message. Users can extend their parking session from anywhere, provided their original transaction was made with the Whoosh! System. This means that users will no longer have to run out and check when their meter expires, and the fear of receiving a parking ticket almost vanishes. A nominal convenience fee of $0.35 is added to each parking transaction.
During the week of April 13th you will see parking ambassadors in bright pink shirts walking around the lots providing information on the Whoosh! system.
