What is this program?
This is a national customer engagement program conducted by Macy’s, Inc. through 681 Macy’s stores whereby customers are asked at the time of checkout if they would like to make a donation to support a local park. NRPA has partnered with Macy’s to assist with program logistics, confirm participation of selected parks, and help direct donations.
How did this park(s) get selected?
This park was selected by your local Macy’s store personnel as the recipient of any local donations made. The local Macy’s store will be indicating that this park will be the recipient of customer donations as a result of this program. The park name may be listed on in-store fliers/posters, as well as through local circulars and the Macy’s website.
When will the program run?
The program will commence on March 7, 2014 and end on March 31, 2014.
How will donations be made?
Customers will be able to make donations of $1 or more when making a purchase at a Macy’s store. Additionally, Macy’s will be matching the first $250,000 raised, dollar-for-dollar. Distribution of donation checks is anticipated to occur by June 2, 2014.
What are the restrictions on how a donation can be used?
There are no restrictions on how a donation, if made, will support the park. The organization receiving the donation is fully empowered to apply the donation as it sees fit to support the park, including staffing, infrastructure, programming, investment banking, and/or any other means of support.
